Healthcare in Malta.
A little clearer.

Public and private services, pharmacies and emergency care-know which next step fits your situation.

For everyday health concerns

A GP can assess non-emergency symptoms, manage ongoing conditions and refer you for further care. Public health centres and private clinics offer different appointment arrangements and fees; check directly before travelling.

Find the right care

Visiting Malta?

Check your travel insurance and whether your European Health Insurance Card or other reciprocal cover applies. Eligible cover for medically necessary public care does not mean all private care or repatriation is included.

Ask a pharmacist

For minor symptoms, medicines and oral rehydration advice, a pharmacist can help. Opening hours and duty pharmacies vary, so confirm current arrangements with the pharmacy or official health service.

In an emergency

Call 112 for an ambulance or other emergency assistance. Do not delay emergency help to arrange a routine consultation.
